Let him/her without sin cast the first stone
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. John 8:7 (KJV)
This is dealing with accusations and charges brought up on a woman for adultery; which she was found in the act thereof. Here’s how it reads:
John 8 King James Version (KJV)
8 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Sin is sin no matter which shape, size, or form it comes in. The problem with people is that they become self-righteous when it comes to sin. They will say ‘I don’t this, and I don’t do that’, but all-in-all they do the other. They tend to strain out the gnat and swallow the camel. In other words, people tend to find the smallest of sins to weed out but will go and commit a larger sin.
So let’s look at what these sins are. Let’s look at Galatians 5 where Paul is speaking of walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh; this is deep.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
According to the scripture above I myself am guilty of sin and I can choose more than one; like most people. Here it is in a nutshell. Walking in the Spirit means one is lead by the Holy Spirit/Ghost to subdue and have our flesh come under or into order. Prayer is one of the key ways to walk in the spirit for it feeds our spirit man. Walking in the flesh means that one is contrary to the things of God which is the spirit. One cannot walk in the spirit and walk in the flesh at the same time; they are only fooling themselves. The main thing here is not to continue to walk in the flesh. Once a person is saved by grace he/she is to walk in the spirit. Now there are times when one will backslide or stumble because it happens, I can testify to that, but one must get back up and repent; not wallow in self-pity and continue on in sin as if nothing happened.
Going with the flow seems to be the biggest issue people have, whether they are saved or not. They a following the world which is governed by laws that seem to change from day to day.
Romans 12 King James Version (KJV)
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It is easy to sit and quote scripture, the funny thing is that I cannot quote scripture like most people can, but what sense does it makes to be able to quote scripture if you don’t know what it means. Satan can do that much better than any preacher and he knows the Word of God better than you and I will ever know it. The above scripture is referred to as a ‘Sense of Values’; Romans 12:1-8. We are to give our whole body over to God as a living sacrifice. You can’t put up a goat as a burnt offering and consider yourself atoned. Offering up a sacrifice to God no matter what it is can be deemed unacceptable to God as it was in the case with Cain; his attitude stunk like garbage sitting in the sun during a heat wave throughout a sanitation strike. The world here is not the physical world as we know it to be, but ‘the age’ of evil. Believers must them live in the tension-filled present ‘evil age’ as members of the age to come; being in the world and not of the world in other words. I am not going to sit here and type out a sermon but it is important to know why we all must answer the call to walk in the spirit; those of us that consider ourselves saved. But be careful not to develop a ghetto mentality and a greenhouse environment when protecting your spirituality.
Paul even asks the question in Roman 6:1
Romans 6 King James Version (KJV)
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The problem with being LGBT is that it requires you to live in sin; and same-sex marriages are supposes to give the same spousal protection to the other person in the same like manner of rights with legitimate heterosexual marriages; -health, economic support, .. etc; -spousal support. This, in my earnest opinion, is only a law to remedy the sin of ‘fornication’, which is the single most performed sin by both the saved and the unsaved. Homosexuality and fornication thus becomes a double sin. Those who advocates for same-sex marriages are not saved people. Listen, it is not that God hates people individually; God hates sin and He hates classes of sinners who perpetrate sin as a lifestyle. Sodom and Gomorrah was a place where the practice of homosexuality was a lifestyle. They became defiled and grotesque when they decide to engage in homosexual conduct/relationship with strange flesh; that being Angels. Selah
